Welcome to the home page of the EpiGrass Simulator!
This site is under construction, so it does not offer a lot of
information yet.
About
EpiGrass is a simulator of epidemics over networks. Its is a
scientific tool created for simulations and scenario analysis in
Network epidemiology. For an in depth description of Epigrass
capabilities, please refer to the documentation.
EpiGrass can interact
with the GRASS
GIS from which it can obtain
maps and other geo-referenced information. However, EpiGrass does not
require an installation of the GRASS GIS for most of its features.
Epigrass is free-software, licensed under the Gnu public license (GPL).
Platform
Currently, EpiGrass is supported only on the Gnu/Linux
platform. If you would like to see it run on other platforms, you can
volunteer to oversee the porting to a given platform. Since Epigrass is
written entirely in Python, porting to other platforms should be very
easy. However this is not the main priority of the EpiGrass development
team.
Multilingual
support
EpiGrass interface, is currently
available in both Brazilian Portuguese
and English (US). Documentation, however is being
provided in english only, for the time being. If you are interested in
translating the GUI (graphical user interface) to you
language, please contact me
for more instructions. Translating the GUI requires no programming
ability and should take no longer than 10 minutes for the entire
translation.
Downloads
EpiGrass can be downloaded from sourceforge.
The
first public release was done 7-apr-2005. Please
read
the manual included, and report any bugs, questions and comments to the
forums.
Soon, I will have a link to a live CD/DVD for those on windows that may
want to try EpiGrass and also for those that may be having
trouble installing all the required packages.
Documentation
EpiGrass's user guide is included with the software. Please check your
/usr/share/epigrass/docs.
An online
(html) version of the documentation is also available.
There is also a Tutorial
of the basic usage of the GUI (requires flash plugin)
Screenshots
You can find some screen shots here.
More are on the way. You can also watch a movie
of a simulation using EpiGrass.
